Neutropenia may be present (even if relatively infrequent) in healthy volunteers, in good health, especially blacks and Yemenite Jews. Causes of neutropenia from disease can be judged by white blood cells as a result of a fall in production) the destruction of white blood cells after their appearance, or sharing of the white blood cells (accumulation of white blood cells from circulation.
The diseases that cause decreased production of white blood cells, such as drug toxicity, vitamin deficiencies and diseases like blood disorders, infections (viral, tuberculosis, typhoid), abnormalities of the spine bone disease, or (with varying degrees of severity from week to week, from month to month, perhaps related to biorhythms) cyclically. Destruction of the white blood cells occur in May as a result of antibodies attacking the cells (such as Felty's syndrome) or immuno-stimulant target cells. The amalgamation of the white blood cells is an overwhelming infection, heart-lung machine during cardiac surgery and hemodialysis.
